Oooooh! Aaaaah!

KEVIN CONROY IS BATMAN AGAIN!
*ahem*
Sorry, had to get that out of the way first. What I meant to say is, please enjoy this expanded trailer for Batman: Gotham Knight in HD -

And in other comic book to film news, here's a whopping TWO minute preview of Robert Downey, Jr. being damned amusing as Iron Man -

. . . and in other geeky news, I just realized that I'm so much of a nerd, I can't even type the phrase/word "Aaaah!" anymore without thinking of Adam Hughes.

*shakes head ruefully*

Hughes often gets a bad rap - most notably for that infamously godawful Mary Jane statuette - but I have to say that I generally like his covers and I thought his Gen 13: Ordinary Heroes was beautiful and even a little bit poignant. It's a read worth tracking down, IMHO.

Ooh! Apparently the TP also has the great little "WHAM!" story in it, wherein Roxy actually rants at length about the body issues being Caitlin Freakin' Fairchild's sister creates. I did not know that! I might have to hunt it down now.

I don't know how much I like the anime inspired Batman designs, but I'm still going to buy it and grin like an idiot the whole time it's on because that's how I am. Was that Deadshot in there? The world needs more animated Deadshot.

That is indeed Deadshot. They go on at some length about his appearance in this ten-minute long featurette. No word on whether or not Michael Rosenbaum's going to be voicing him again in the manner of Kevin Spacey but we can dream.

I read the Steve Englehart run on Detective awhile back and didn't get the appeal of Deadshot at all because all that happened was he failed utterly and was in danger of being crushed by a giant typewriter. Then I saw the JLU Suicide Squad episode. One of my favorite villains now.

As I understand it, the best place to read Deadshot is John Ostrander's Suicide Squad, but that's a bit before my time. At one point, he responds to a command to make sure somebody doesn't get killed by someone else - at any cost - by killing the person himself. Because, in his way of thinking, he still fulfilled the mission when he didn't let the first assassin kill the target. :D

Deadshot also had a recent mini-series that was a good read and his appearances in Secret Six have all been great for a chuckle. His JLU appearance was a touch more whimsical than they usually write him in the comics but yeah, he's still a great villain.
